The Collector s Edition
Celebrating a groundbreaking label
51CD BOX SET the true legacy of a legendary label

Long hailed as an audiophile s label, Mercury represents an important milestone in the history of classical recordings

As The New York Times described, "One feels oneself in the living presence of the orchestra"

60 years after the landmark first recording, Mercury Living Presence: The Collector s Edition celebrates this special anniversary

Elegantly packaged, and following the highly successful format of The Decca Sound, this box set presents 50 original albums that have won accolades, and features such celebrated artists as Antal Dorati, Rafael Kubelik, Gina Bachauer, Byron Janis, Janos Starker, and Henryk Szeryng

The bonus disc contains a rare interview with Mercury legendary producer Wilma Cozart Fine

Mercury Living Presence is special in many ways - an American company, from the heyday of classical recording in the U.S., that reproduced some of the most sonically realistic recordings at the dawn of the stereo era. Precious few stereo LPs were pressed when these recordings were issued, and they became some of the rarest, most collectible classical discs ever. Mercury Living Presence continues to enjoy a special reputation as one of the most enterprising, prestigious and sonically-spectacular labels in the history of classical recording.

Some of these recording have been available on CD and on SACD. However, many are now deleted and only available 2nd-hand or through auction sellers at pemium prices. This 50-album Box Set (plus bonus interview CD with Wilma Cozart Fine, Mercury s producer) affords collectors an opportunity to acquire 50 classic recordings at a terrific price, in a box which may well become collectible itself.

The Industrial Water Tube Boiler is Much More Than a Hot Water Generator

!±8± The Industrial Water Tube Boiler is Much More Than a Hot Water Generator

In the industrial sector there are some drastic differences in how these units work when compared to one another as well as compared to boilers used in the conventional home. In the home the units are generally very simple to operate, even maintenance free for the most part other than a yearly inspection you should do with general use. In the industrial sector the boilers are much larger and often have specific jobs that go beyond simply heating water for showers and sinks. These industrial units use a couple of technologies to do the job. One is the water tube boiler, a process where the water is run through large and long tubes to generate the steam output used for various reasons.

Some water tube boilers are used for their steam output. This is not to heat up the plant but more so to be used in things like softening wood, creating paper pulp, and even in machines that manufacture a variety of different things and uses heat or steam to condition the materials, realign molecules to make stronger metals and much more. The applications are endless but the technology has to work, and work well. Most of the companies that use these boilers depend on them to keep their company thriving. In much the same way paper companies depend on trees to maintain their product's raw materials; these companies depend on the steam and heat to turn those raw materials into products.

Depending on what the company plans to do with this heat and steam there are a variety of different water tube boiler designs to fit them. There are several companies that manufacture this type of boiler and although this is generally the preferred boiler for many companies there are other types that work better for different industries. Which type you will need will depend solely on what you need it for and part of it is a matter of preference. The different kinds of boilers can often do the same job but depending on the resources (such as fuel availability and other factors) one may be more feasible than another for a certain company.

Water tube boilers are generally kept in the industrial sector not the home or domestic sectors. The very way these boilers work would generally not be useful in a home not to mention they would be too big and too expensive to run to be used in a home. They are designed for other purposes besides the normal uses of a home boiler, but the concepts are generally the same, how they are employed is what changes.
